Full Mouth Dental Implants Before and After: Kristen’s Smile Journey

“I had great teeth until probably 2013, and then all of a sudden I got 13 cavities.”

From there, Kristen says her teeth began deteriorating rapidly. What started as cavities eventually became a much larger problem that affected not only her oral health, but also how she felt about herself.

“My teeth were decaying from the inside out, and they just started kind of falling out. That brought my self-esteem way down.”

Eventually, Kristen reached a point where she believed dentures would be her only realistic option.

They weren’t.

When Dental Problems Became Impossible to Ignore

As Kristen’s teeth continued to deteriorate, even routine dental treatment failed to stop the progression.

She had several teeth filled, but the problems continued.

At one point, her teeth had become so compromised that she recalls accidentally pulling one out while she was asleep.

“I was sleeping one night and I pulled a tooth out in my sleep. It was that bad.”

Eventually, Kristen had only a handful of teeth remaining. Those teeth were removed, and she began the process of getting traditional dentures.

She hoped dentures would give her back some sense of normalcy.

Instead, they created another challenge.

When Dentures Didn’t Work

After Kristen’s gums healed, she received her dentures. But no matter what she tried, they did not fit properly.

Adhesive didn’t solve the problem. Adjustments didn’t solve it either.

“The dentures would not fit at all.”

The dentures were remade multiple times, but Kristen continued struggling with them.

Beyond the physical discomfort, the experience created significant anxiety.

“They redid them a couple different times. They still didn’t fit, and so I just kind of gave up.”

Eventually, Kristen stopped wearing them altogether.

For approximately three years, she lived without teeth.

That affected much more than her ability to chew. It changed how comfortable she felt speaking with people, being seen by others, and participating socially.

Deciding It Was Finally Time for Dental Implants

Kristen’s mother had encouraged her for years to consider dental implants.

After her mother passed away, that advice took on new meaning.

“My mom wanted me to get dental implants for the longest time, and then she passed away two years ago. I finally decided, you know, I need to do this for her and me.”

That decision marked a turning point.

Kristen also worked around people regularly, making her smile and confidence an important part of her everyday life.

After years of feeling like nothing could help, she decided to explore whether full mouth dental implants might give her a more stable, long-term solution.

Finding a Team That Would Listen

Kristen came to SPG Dental Implants with her father for her initial visit.

One of the things she remembers most was how clearly the team explained the process.

“We went over everything. They kind of explained what was going to happen, how the process goes.”

That communication mattered because Kristen was understandably nervous after everything she had already experienced with her teeth and dentures.

She also felt that her doctor genuinely listened.

“He actually wanted to sit down and listen, and wanted to help.”

Instead of feeling rushed through the process, Kristen says she was able to ask questions and understand what was happening at each stage.

“He took time to want to hear what I had to say.”

That helped turn her nervousness into excitement.

In fact, Kristen says she was ready to begin almost immediately.

“I was very, very excited to start this. Like I wanted to start that day.”

Going Home With Teeth Again

For someone who had spent roughly three years without teeth, going home with a new smile was a major moment.

“Going home with teeth felt very good.”

The reaction from Kristen’s family was immediate.

They could see the difference not only in her smile, but in the way she carried herself.

“They were so surprised and happy.”

Her new teeth gave her something she had been missing for years: the freedom to interact without constantly thinking about her mouth.

That emotional change became increasingly noticeable as she returned to normal life.

How Full Mouth Dental Implants Changed Kristen’s Confidence

The biggest transformation Kristen describes is not simply cosmetic.

It is behavioral.

She goes out more.

She talks to people more comfortably.

She no longer feels the same need to cover her mouth or hide her face.

“I can talk to people a lot more without, like, hiding my smile, you know, hiding my face.”

That is one of the most meaningful parts of Kristen’s Smile Journey.

When broken or missing teeth dominate someone’s thoughts, everyday interactions can become difficult. Smiling, laughing, speaking, and meeting new people can all become moments of self-consciousness.

For Kristen, dental implants helped remove much of that burden.

She could focus less on hiding and more on living.

More Than a New Smile

Kristen’s journey took years.

She went from healthy teeth to rapid decay, unsuccessful dental work, extractions, dentures that would not fit, and eventually three years without teeth.

By the time she explored full mouth dental implants, she had already experienced multiple setbacks.

Her transformation therefore represents more than receiving new teeth.

It represents finally finding another path after believing for years that there might not be one.

Today, Kristen describes a very different version of herself.

She is more social. More comfortable speaking with people. More willing to show her smile.

And when she reflects on her experience with SPG, her assessment is simple:

“I love everything about it. They have just been amazing.”
