Dr. Skye Smith, DDS, FICOI

For Dr. Skye Smith, implant dentistry is a field she is invested in both inside and outside the treatment room. As a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), a research grant reviewer for the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Foundation, and a member of the AAID Membership Committee, she stays closely connected to the research, education, and advancements shaping modern implant care. Dr. Smith attended North Dakota State University before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry. She has continued to build on that education throughout her career, particularly in implant dentistry, and has completed additional training in IV moderate sedation. At Slidell Dentures and Implants, she brings that experience to patients facing missing teeth, failing teeth, or challenges with traditional dentures. Dr. Smith understands that choosing to replace your teeth is a major decision. She wants patients to understand their options, know what to expect, and feel comfortable asking questions throughout the process. Her approach to dentures, dental implants, and full-arch treatment combines careful planning with a focus on the person behind the smile. The goal is not simply to replace teeth, but to create a solution that helps each patient get back to eating comfortably, speaking naturally, and feeling more like themselves. Her interest in implant dentistry also extends beyond her own patients. Through her work with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dr. Smith contributes to an organization dedicated to advancing implant education and research, while continuing to expand her own knowledge as the field evolves. Away from dentistry, she enjoys biking, traveling, fitness, and reading. Family is an important part of her life, and she especially enjoys time with her nieces and nephews, along with catching up and making memories with friends.
